Homework Assignment - Back of Book Bio

Deidra Jacobs’ favorite scripture is, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”.  This best selling author has learned the importance of trusting God.  She often says, “You can earn your diploma from one of two schools, His Way Academy of Excellence or The School of Hard Knocks – the choice is yours.”
Her newest book, Focus on the Bigger Picture, is a collection of short stories that deal with real life issues.  The well-written narratives will give all your emotions a tug but you soon come to understand that with every problem there is a perfect solution based in God’s Word.
Deidra attends Detroit World Outreach Church, under the leadership of Bishop Benjamin Gibert and Assistant Pastor, Dr. Charisse Gibert.  She currently is a ministry leader, volunteer administrative assistant for the Seasoned Saints Ministry and serves in the prayer ministry.
Deidra is retired and has two grown daughters, Danielle and Aliyya.  She is single and currently resides in  Southfield, MI.

A Writer's Workshop - 5/15/11

First, I would like to say how much I enjoyed the first Writer's Workshop held on Sunday. It was very evident that you have a passion for writing and you certainly conveyed that in our first class.  I learned that any one who desires to write should have a passion but must also be willing to embrace the necessary tools required to be able to write down your thoughts and turn them into a letter, term paper, book, etc. that allows the reader to experience the picture you are painting through your words.

The Key Concepts we reviewed were great!  The No Procrastination Zone discussion really hit home for me.  If I have engaged the Holy Spirit, developed my own GPA (goals, purpose and audience), I am writing down the thoughts as I get them, writing on purpose, using all the tools that I need (dictionary, bible, research materials, etc.) and using the 5 W's, there should be no reason why I am not ready to paint my picture when I sit down in "the zone".  I have the ideal place picked out.

My expectation for the remaining sessions is to learn all you can teach me.

Thank you so much.
